So…I’m thinking about taking fanfic writing commissions.

*explodes in nervousness at the thought of writing this post*

First off. I write gen; that’s my area. If you want a fic with any romance in it, that’d be a rare thing for me and the chance that I’d ask whether you’d be okay with a friendship fic is fairly high. However, I’ll consider non-gen requests on a case-by-case basis. (Generally speaking, I’m more comfortable with canon ships than otherwise.) I will not write sexual content.

Above all, I write for Les Miserables, Brick canon. If there’s something else I post that you like, though, ask me—Horatio Hornblower, the French Revolution, Doctor Who, whatever. I might tell you I’m not very comfortable with/good at a certain character, but I can always work on somebody new to me!

I’ve not seen a lot of writing commissions, so I don’t have much to go on, but here’s my attempt at pricing. Hopefully it’s fair.

• drabble (150 words or under): three dollars
• ficlet (150 to 500 words): five to ten dollars depending on length
• medium one-shot (500 to 1000 words): twelve to eighteen dollars, again depending on where in the range it falls
• long one-shot (anything above 1000 words): probably twenty plus? If you want something of this length, let’s talk.

I’ll send the story directly to you however you would like, and not publish it on my blog until you’ve confirmed you’ve read it. (My words are still mine by artistic right, so I will still post the work myself. You may also post it as long as you credit me, preferably linking back to my blog. I’d like to know where you upload it, but that’s not a strict requirement.)
